Informative books on Fort Sumter crisis?

I'm writing a paper on the Fort Sumter crisis and I'm a little shaky on my thesis. I heard about the conspiracy that Abe Lincoln instigated the first shots but as I read more I'm learning that because of the mentality of the everyday citizen in both the North and South the battle was inevitable. I feel like all leaders were just listening to popular opinion. Are there any good books that mention the Lincoln conspiracy or opinions of Unionists and Confederates during and before the Fort Sumter crisis?
