Can i dye my highlighted hair a brown caramel colour with warm tones without using a solid red dye first?
my hair is naturally a lightish brown which i have had a full heads of highlights on for nearly a year, the result has been brittle damaged hair, and i've consequently had to get a lot cut off the length, i would therefore now like to dye it back to a colour i had it previously, which was a a nice medium brown caramely colour but it had very warm tones, my question is whether i can dye it this colour straight away and would this need to be permanent or semi-permanent or whether i'd need to use a semi-permanent red dye first? Also any suggestions for what hair dye and colour to use to achieve that sort of brown would be very useful as i have forgotten what i used to use.
