I recently moved from NY to MI. I was going to have a friend who was comming to visit bring a few cartons of new yorks reservation cigarettes called senecas. They are NOT taxable by new york state. Now, friend backed out and I hate paying 60$ a carton here. I only wanted to get like 5 cartons and my mother was willing to mail them to me. How can this be done legally? Do I need to take a reciept and pay michigan tax even though they are NON taxable in new york? Confusing issue. Thanks.
