Don't I have the legal right to know what my son's current homework is?

My son is getting poor grades in school basically because he won't do the homework. This has been going on a long time and I am done with trying to do things the school's way. I devised my own plan too teach my children how to get good grades by just doing 5 minutes of homework per day per cl. It's a very simple system, but, in order to teach them I need to know what their current homework is in each cl. I have talked to counselors, teachers, principals, and superintendents, but cannot get any cooperation. I can go to the website and see grades and all the work that they were supposed to complete, but, I cannot get current homework ignments. The school will have a teacher spend time with my son during study hall, but won't let me know what he is supposed to be working on in each cl. This is in Indiana and is a public school system.
