I like this girl, but I'm not her "type"?

Hey guys so I like this girl, she's grade 9 I'm grade 10 and I've known her for a while we both go to this same beach country-club-type club during the summer. Anyway she's reaallly cute but is this super drugged up party-like-charlie-sheen thing going on... She's going to this alternative school and all her friends are kinda the same. She's done like everything there is but isn't addicted just does weed, shrooms and the occasional hard drug. Anyway she's super sweet but I don't drink (liver problem, I'll die if I only have one drink) and I have a lung problem where I can't smoke either) so I don't think she'll be interested. The other day I was texting her friend and she basically told me she doesn't think she would like anyone who isn't into it since she's so...well ya. But she told me she has told her that I was "cute" and "sweet" but really "reserved and quiet" :(. I also am aware that the girl I like has really fuccked up family life like her dad abused her and all this other ****. How do I ask her out? Honestly I just find her really intimidating but I've chilled with her before and she's the sweetest girl I've ever known but like I'm just a bit siked out cuz she probably would be interested?? Advice?? Sorry this is kinda a stupid question lol
