Preference or Racism?

I started dating my best friend fully aware that he had a "preference" for Asian girls, but had never gotten to date one. We dated for a long time and he said he loved me... but recently he broke up with me just so that he could hook up with Asians... is preference really that important? Just because my hair isn't black, my eyes are round and my skin is white I'm not good enough?? I have no "preference" so I don't understand. I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder... and I also know that this was a really shallow and jerky move. He's an , I get it, lol. How many other people are also so dedicated to their "preference" that they would feel incomplete without having dated one? When does preference become racism?
